Program Description:
Petitions for Alternative Programs - All students wishing to petition for an alternative program must meet with Dr. Amy Suelzer.  Please call 314-935-5958 to schedule an appointment.
  1. Open an application by clicking apply now and complete the online petition advising questionnaire.
  2. Mandatory: Set up an appointment to meet with Dr. Amy Suelzer by calling 935-5958 or coming to Walk-in Hours.
  3. After speaking with Dr. Suelzer, if you choose to continue with your petition the following application materials will be necessary:
    1. Petition Data Sheet
    2. Statement of Purpose
    3. GPA Disclosure
    4. Study Plan - This needs to be signed by the Study Abroad Advisor(s) in the Arts & Sciences department(s) in which you wish to receive credit from coursework abroad (must be a declared major or minor)
    5. Letter of Endorsement : This must be completed by the Study Abroad Advisor(s) in the Arts & Sciences department(s) in which you wish to receive credit from coursework abroad (must be a declared major or minor). You may request a supplemental letter from another faculty member if desire. Please give them at least 2 weeks notices (3 for spring programs). Students applying to study abroad during their sophomore year must also receive a letter of endorsement from their 4-year advisor.
    6. Academic Record - This form allows Overseas Programs to order your official transcript to send to your program
    7. Program-Specific Forms and Supplemental Material:
    • Please print out any information about your program and the courses you plan to take that will help the Study Abroad Advisory Board evaluate your program
Submit all materials to Overseas Programs (McMillan 138) by the appropriate deadline
If your petition is approved, submit the program application to Overseas Programs
