Description:  RICI is a private foundation started in 2014 and focused on mental development and psychological well-being of children and youth in rural China. RICI programs are oriented toward positive psychology and set their mission as “ to activate children’s and youth’s mentality, improve their growing environment and facilitate their mind growth by mobilizing love, care and company.” RICI positions itself as a grant-making & operating foundation, concentrating on the design, implementation and financing of programs that target  children’s and youth psychological well-being. RICI strives to explore and promote the most effective psychological education model in order to improve the overall social environment around children and youth and to make every child grow and live happily. RICI foundation has established cooperative relationships with many domestic and foreign universities and institutions to conduct research programs and to build the most professional psychological education platform in China.

PRACTICUM DETAILS

Language Requirement: Mandarin required

Possible Projects: Flourish Psyche Magic school, magic parenting toolkit; teacher support center; ignite project; Huizin education aid

Preferred Knowledge and Background: Children Youth &Families; Evaluation; Program Management; Training Skills; Research; Grant writing

Cost: Students are responsible for flights, potential visa fees, and living expenses. Other independent travel expenses are the responsibility of the student. $900 round-trip tickets; $400/m for housing (if you apply early enough, they provide a dorm room at $50/M, moderate conditions); $200/m for meals. Stipend: $500/M (3500RMB/m). Students are required to purchase purchase WUSTL travel insurance for the duration of their practicum for $40/month. 


Travel Immunizations or preventative medication is recommended and may be required for your program participation. Students are responsible for covering all associated costs. Please refer to the CDC for more information.
